Fort Ticonderoga

9am. This morning it will be raspberry pancakes! Simply delicious. It is a blazing sun and already an overwhelming heat is felt. South wind quite light.

11:45 am We raise the anchor direction Fort Ticonderoga. First by the motor and then by wind when it intensifies!
The other Champlain Bridge near Crown Point

We drop the sails as we will go under the Champlain Bridge (yes there is one here too) doing between 4.5 and 5.5 knots upwind. Past the bridge, we will have the wind in the nose, impossible to sail. We motor for 12 km, and the transmission works perfectly.

The water south of the bridge is of a completely different colour. It is a milky khaki green drawing on the yellow and the pale blue of the sky reflected there brings out an unusual contrast very interesting. The lake is much shallower now, its depth is around 30 feet.

16:00 Anchored to East Creek, the shore opposite Fort Ticonderoga.

Late afternoon very calm and warm

The first night really relaxed since Allan abandoned the idea of returning to Dorval through the Erie Canal, Oswego and the Thousand Islands.

19:10 It's nap time for Allan, he has back pain and takes Daniele's anti-inflammatory and painkillers for her tendinitis.

It will be a very quiet night without wind to be rocked by the wave.
