America, here we come

7:30 am: Good morning! The water pressure pump is leaking ... a small repair job in sight for Allan!

9H40: The sails are installed, emptying the engine sump of 2 and a half bottles.

10:48 AM We raise the anchor.

12.30: We pass the customs. We did not have a cruising license to leave Champlain.  Customs officer ridiculed us a little and prepared a cruising license for us and let us go.

1:01 pm: We docked at Barcombs Marina and filled up diesel 11.7 gallons us / 287.5 hours to the engine Hobbs meter.

The lady at the marina let us use a service dock as we got our act together.

I went to Flow Control to get the Torqueedo as Daniele prepared lunch.  We kept a portable VHF to stay in contact.

Waiting for Donna at Barcombs
Then we tried to get groceries from the Price Chopper in Champlain, about 5 km away.  I had thought of bringing a bike and leaving it on Flow Control so we get groceries, but I didn't do that.

Tried to get an Uber or Lyft or taxi.  No luck

Finally, I called Border Mail and Donna offered to bring my boxes to Barcombe's.  We asked her if she could take us to Price Choppers.  She waited as we rushed to get our groceries.  Donna suggested we do our liquor stock.  We went to   NEPHEWS LIQUOR AND WINE and got the hard stuff and a dozen wines.  The liquor store told us if we bought 12 bottles of wine we would get a 15 percent discount.  That is like two free bottles.

Thank you, Donna.

18:00 We eventually left the marina after being ridiculed by Mr Barcombe for overstaying our welcome.  I promised to give a good review for their marina.

I suggested anchoring north of Ile aux Motte, but Daniele had the helm and we were going to Pelots Bay.

20h33: Anchored in this welcoming and familiar bay where we spent our first summers sailing my little family and me. Very good memories for Daniele's past life.
